If you need to install KeenTools add-ons on a machine that has no access to the internet, you can do it using two pre-downloaded .zip files: KeenTools Blender Pack (download from this page) and Core Library. Install the Blender Pack file first using instructions above. Once KeenTools is installed inside Blender, go to Blender Preferences > Get Extensions (for Blender 4.1 and earlier: Add-ons), search for KeenTools, unfold it, agree to License Agreement, click on ‘Install from disk’ and navigate to the downloaded Core Library zip file. Please note that Blender Pack and Core Library versions must match.
If your machine has access to the internet, our add-ons will automatically check for new updates from time to time. When there's a new version, you'll be offered to update it.
Firstly, it's always good to review the installation instructions in our guides and tutorial videos.Anyway, if you have installed something and it doesn't work, it would be better to remove it first and relaunch Blender. Make sure you're installing the latest versions of the add-on and KeenTools Core Library (You will always get the newest version of Core Library after pressing ‘Install online’).
Firstly, try to press the N key — you should see a Sidebar appear in the right side of the viewport. If there's no FaceTracker tab on it, open Blender Preferences > Add-ons and search for KeenTools. If KeenTools is nowhere to be found, it means it was deleted — please check that your antivirus software hadn’t removed it. If it had — add the Blender add-ons directory to the white-list and install FaceTracker again.
To update the add-on you need to reinstall it. Before installing a new Core Library you need to restart Blender. The recommended process would look like this: remove the old add-on, restart Blender, install a new version of the add-on and then install the new Core Library. We'll address this hurdle in future releases!
If the machine where you're going to install FaceBuilder is connected to the Internet, you need to download the add-on file only, and install it using the 'Install...' button on the Add-on page of Blender preferences window, then you'd need to install the core library using 'Install Online' button on the FaceBuilder settings pane.
If that machine is not connected to the Internet, you need to download both, the add-on file and KeenTools Core library. Then you can install the downloaded core library using 'Install From Disk' button on the FaceBuilder settings pane.
Due to Blender license limitations we have to ship our core library separately.
Luckily, our add-on is able to download the core library almost automatically, but if the machine where you want to install FaceBuilder for Blender is not connected to the Internet, then you need to download not only the add-on itself but also KeenTools Core.
Unfortunately, no. FaceBuilder works only with Blender 2.80 and newer.
The add-on is an open source adapter for KeenTools Core Library, its Git repository can be found here.
